3/8/2010 - LLOG HITS PAY AT MANDY PROSPECT |
| LLOG Exploration Co. drilled a discovery at the deepwater Gulf of Mexico Mandy prospect in Mississippi Canyon block 199. Mandy is a conventional amplitude discovery drilled in 2,465 FSW (752 MSW). The discovery well was drilled to a total depth of approximately 7,500 ft. TVD and encountered in excess of 120 ft. net TVD oil pay, confirmed by RCI pressures and samples, in a high quality reservoir. A follow-up well at Mandy to a separate fault-block in Mississippi Canyon block 199 also found a high quality oil-filled reservoir with greater than 100 ft. net TVD oil pay.
LLOG operates the prospect with a 50% interest. Mariner Energy holds a 35% stake and Apache Corp. has a 15% stake.
Scott Gutterman, LLOG Exploration’s President and CEO said, “LLOG’s deepwater Gulf of Mexico program is very well situated for growth with the recent first production of our Mississippi Canyon block 72 field and development projects at Green Canyon block 141 and Green Canyon block 448 slated for start-up later this year. With the discovery at Mandy and continued drilling at Mississippi Canyon block 503 and block 547, which has recently begun, LLOG is positioning itself for significant production and reserve adds going into the future.” |
